Club Play in Peltier Park

Weather permitting, we play weekly throughout the year on the pétanque terrain in Peltier Park. Check the calendar here for days and times (note times may vary throughout the year as temperatures and daylight may require). These activities are free and usually organized as "pick up" games between players selected at random.

New Players: We welcome new players to stop by and join in the fun. We're happy to lend you boules, explain the basics, and get you in a game. Drop by if you see us playing, or send an email (thibodauxpetanqueclub@gmail.com) if you have any questions.

Tournaments

Several times a year we organize competitive events such as tournaments or league play. These are usually announced in advance and may require registration or an entry fee to participate. Other times, we may hold free "fun tournaments" just to change things up or to mark a special day, like Bastille Day!

Across the country, there are many tournaments held throughout the year. Some of these are official FPUSA regional or national events restricted to FPUSA members. Others are "open" events, like our Mardi Gras Open, where anyone can sign up. The largest pétanque tournament in the US is the Amelia Island Open, which attracts about 200 teams, and one of the largest in the world is the Mondial La Marseillaise à Pétanque which attracts several thousands of teams each year.

A list of FPUSA Tournaments can be found here.
