Thibodaux Pétanque Club Events - Join Us for Fun!

All registered players are bestowed the honor of membership in the wondrous and mystic Krewe of Pétanque. The traditions of the Krewe are closely held, but it is well-known that each year’s King Carreau and Queen Fanny are selected from those krewe members in attendance. We hope you will join us to celebrate their kind and benevolent reign.

The 2026 Mardi Gras Open will feature an entire WEEKEND of pétanque and revelry. The fun starts Friday February 13, 2026 with social play and other festivities, and keeps rolling along through the two-day tournament on Saturday and Sunday, followed by local Mardi Gras parades.

Pre-MGO Pétanque Class

Greetings Mardi Gras Petanqueurs!
Damien Hureau and possibly other France/World champions (Dylan Rocher and Stéphane Robineau) are planning to hold a pétanque class right before the 2025 Mardi Gras Open. This class will be open to everyone, not just those playing in the tournament. It will be a remarkable opportunity to learn from one or more of the top players in the world.

Preliminary Details:
The clinic is tentatively planned for Friday, February 28, 2025 - at a time yet to be determined. The cost will be in the neighborhood of $80-100 per person for nominally a 3 hour class (the cost, time and duration will depend slightly on enrollment). The class will cover pointing and shooting, explanation of proper technique, individual analysis, strategy and advice - followed by a game or two to practice what was covered. The number of trainees will be limited to about 10-12 per champion. Initial plans call for Damien to hold the class by himself. However, if there is enough interest, Damien relayed that Dylan and/or Stéphane would join him and divide the class into separate subgroups/workshops.
